Seymour Passenger Services

Bio

Current president of SB&T after serving as committee member and secretary. Currently serving as a member approved by State government on the Goulburn Regional Partnership. This partnership is one of 9 regional partnerships putting forward regional initiatives to State government. Was also on the Community Liaison Group to help put forward the communities’ vision for the Seymour structure plan in concert with the Mitchell Shire Council. A long time Seymour resident. General Manager of Seymour Passenger Services P/L since 1991, overseeing the incremental growth of the company’s fleet and personnel.

Vision

To showcase to Victoria the many jewels that Seymour has in its crown. To work hard to continue to remove the stigma that the “old” Seymour had and to regenerate a pride and a sense of ownership of this town. Whilst population growth is important in order to merely survive, Seymour needs to grow organically so we don’t lose our rural identity. Seymour needs to grow in such a way as to improve our amenity and remain a key rural community in the Goulburn Valley, and a focus for decentralisation in the eyes of all bodies who plan for rural Victoria’s growth.

Bio

Originally growing up in Yea and in my younger days I played football for the Murray bushrangers in both under 16 and under 18 state league and played at both Yea and Seymour. In my early twenties decided to see the world which was an amazing adventure over 3 years travelling large parts of Europe north and central America and parts of Africa and Asia. Arriving back to Australia with next to nothing but some amazing memories my father Neil suggested I work for him for 12 months that turned into 10 years before I started purchasing the business in 2012 I am very proud to employ near 50 local people today in a business. In my family life I have 3 beautiful daughters and a wife and we have made our home in Nagambie.

Vision

To promote and improve quality of living, sense of community. To seek sustainable growth that protects our natural and historic resources. For Seymour to grow into a thriving Rural city with improved facilities and employment opportunities for family to live and work locally.

Bio

I made a tree change to acreage on the Goulburn River in Trawool in 2016 from Melbourne’s CBD – the traffic on Punt Road was becoming unbearable and our preteen sons were outgrowing our rooftop pad on Collins Street. I am an Employment / Human Resources / Recruitment Lawyer who is retained by local and regional businesses to source, develop, mentor and integrate talent. There are many hidden employment opportunities in and around Seymour. Since 2016, I have placed and managed 80+ positions including receptionists, lawyers, accountants, Chief Operating Officers, mechanics, doctors, supermarket managers, gardeners, detailers, cleaners, bus drivers, real estate agents, events co-ordinators, events managers, conveyancers, finance clerks, wine makers, mushroom pickers, forklift drivers, graphic designers, social media managers, warehouse managers, car salesmen and women, general managers, hairdressers and teachers.

Vision

I am passionate about untapping the talent in Seymour, placing the right staff in the right positions, encouraging business growth, business succession planning, creating and maintaining rewarding careers IN Seymour.

Bio

I was fortunate enough to grow up in Seymour and complete all of my primary and secondary education here. After moving to Melbourne for 9 years I chose to settle back in Seymour to raise my young family as I wish for them to experience the wonderful country lifestyle opportunities I did. I have a small business and Seymour offers the perfect mix of what I need to succeed along with being so close but far enough away from the bigger cities.

Vision

  • Continuing working on community pride and confidence in Seymour.

  • Recognition of the importance of local business.

  • Spruiking Seymour as the perfect location for micro businesses.

  • A place for people from all walks of life to enjoy and call home.

  • A town where visitors come to experience our beautiful environment whether it's a walk along the river, a latte at a local café or watching a game of local sport.

  • Seymour, the place where everyone wants to come back to.
